Ambassador Okey Emuchay, a governorship aspirant during the just
concluded primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in
Abia State, has announced his resignation as a member of the party in
the state.
Emuchay disclosed this, in a letter addressed to the Azumini Ward
chairman of APC in Ukwa East local government area of the state, which
was issued to newsmen on Sunday night.
The former Nigerian Envoy to South Africa did not disclose in the letter why he was dumping the APC.
Emuchay was among the six aspirants that jostled for the
gubernatorial ticket of the APC during its primaries held in Abia on
October, but lost to Dr. Uche Ogah.
Part of the letter reads, “I hereby inform you on my resignation as a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia state.
“I would be glad if you could as expected, convey my decision to the Ward Executives, Stakeholders and Members accordingly.
“Please accept, Mr. Chairman, the assurance of my highest regards”.
